North Frontenac’s Independent Watchdog
NFNM.tv — North Frontenac News Media — is an independent, community-funded journalism outlet serving the Township of North Frontenac and the surrounding region in eastern Ontario.
We cover what others won’t. That means attending every council meeting, filing information requests, reading every budget document, and asking questions that don’t always get polite answers. We report on local government, civic life, housing, infrastructure, and the issues that shape daily life in this rural community.
Who We Are
NFNM.tv was founded and is operated by Donald Morton, a North Frontenac resident committed to the idea that rural communities deserve the same quality of accountability journalism as any city.
This outlet is independent. We accept no advertising from local politicians or businesses with business before council. We are funded by readers — through Patreon and voluntary contributions — which means our loyalty is to you, not to anyone in power.
What We Believe
Good local journalism isn’t optional. When no one is watching, decisions get made quietly, money disappears into line items, and residents find out years later. We believe an informed community is a stronger one — and that the people of North Frontenac deserve to know what’s being done in their name.
We don’t do rumour. We do record. Minutes, votes, budgets, bylaws — the paper trail that shows what actually happened.
Our Standards
- We name our sources when we can and protect them when we must.
- We correct our errors promptly and transparently.
- We don’t publish until we’ve given the subject of a story a chance to respond.
- We separate news from opinion, and label both clearly.
You can read our full Editorial Standards for more detail.
Support the Work
NFNM.tv runs on reader support. If this journalism matters to you, consider becoming a supporter on Patreon. Every contribution keeps us independent and keeps the lights on.
