Background This report is presented to Council to provide an update on the various ongoing activities and special projects during the 3rd quarter of 2011.

Committee Activities:
- Association of Emergency Medical Services of Ontario (AMEMSO) Board: Annual Fall Conference from September 26 to 30
- AMEMSO Eastern Ontario Chiefs on September 15 and 16
- Emergency Medical Services Chiefs of Canada (Executive and Board) on July 4 and 27, August 10 and 11, and September 12 Special Projects/Other Activities I attended and had the privilege to stand with Deputy Chief of Operations David Gemmill and one of our former staff, Dan Shannon, as they received the Governor General’s Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal. The medals are presented to the recipients by Major General Richard Rohmer, Canada’s most decorated civilian and Honorary Chief of Toronto EMS. The Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal, created on July 7, 1994, recognizes professionals in the provision of pre-hospital emergency medical services to the public, who have performed their duties in an exemplary manner, characterized by good conduct, industry and efficiency. Recipients must have been employed with emergency medical services on or after October 31, 1991, and have completed 20 years of exemplary service, including at least 10 years in the performance of duties involving potential risk.
Recommendation That the Council of the County of Frontenac accept this Emergency and Transportation Services – 2011 3rd Quarter Activity Update report for information only.
