Frontenac Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes March 12, 2019 A meeting of the Frontenac Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee (FAAC) was held at the Grace Centre, 4295 Stage Coach Road, Sydenham on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 10:30 AM Present:

Deputations and/or Presentations Presentation by Southern Frontenac Community Services Accessibility Upgrades to the Grace Centre
Mr. Townsend, CEO of Southern Frontenac Community Services welcomed the Committee to the Grace Centre and provided an overview of what happens at the Centre, including a Book Club and Coffee Shop. Mr. Mills provided an overview of upgrades to the hall including improvements to its acoustics. He also noted improvements to both levels of the building which have been carried out to date. He then noted the funding just received for additional improvements including the ramp to the lower level of the Centre and washroom renovations. He provided architectural drawings of the proposed ramp with construction to begin next month by M. Sullivan and Son. A copy of the presentation is attached to the record in the Clerk’s Office. The washroom is being completed by Joe Bowes with the accessories and fixtures being done by Fox Plumbing. Due to the size and space of the area, the washrooms will not be fully accessible but will accommodate mobility aids including wheelchairs. 7.
Reports to the Accessibility Advisory Committee 2019-030 Frontenac Accessibility Advisory Committee Quarterly Update Report – Q1
This report was for information purposes only; however Ms. Amini will follow up with Frontenac Transportation Services to obtain results of the survey it issued regarding accessible transportation. 8.
Township Updates Frontenac Islands
No updates were provided. Central Frontenac Updates were attached to the agenda. North Frontenac No Updates were provided

South Frontenac Updates were attached to the agenda; however Ms. Corneil noted that the Township of South Frontenac is also re-doing its website this year as well as providing meeting space for the upcoming webinar by the Accessibility Directorate of Ontario for AAC members to help build practical knowledge and skills to contribute to the success of the committee. 9.
Communications a)
From Kurt Halliday regarding government-related accessibility initiative for students and schools. Other Business
Mr. Townsend provided the Committee with a tour of the Grace Centre. 11.
Next Meeting
The next meeting is scheduled for June 25, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Township of South Frontenac Council Chamber. 12.
