Deputy Mayor Inglis expressed that he is not interested in continuing to be Acting Chair for the EDTF meetings in Councillor Stephanie Regent’s absence.

The EDTF discussed the changes that were made at the last meeting to the 2025 Workplan and explained that these items have not been completely removed off the table and that they are placed in an on-going “Parking Lot” for when new information arises and that the sub-groups may still wish to continue working on these items; however, there are other items that the EDTF can make progress on and which will be added and Page 1 of 3

focused on for the 2025 Workplan. Every year the EDTF sets a work plan to attempt to accomplish within that calendar year.

The EDTF expressed concerns regarding the important work that they complete based on some negative social media postings that were recently shared by members of the community this past weekend. As volunteers they work very hard to accomplish tasks and find it was rather disheartening to see these negative comments.

A member of the public shared comments regarding the Mayor changing the workplan; however, Deputy Mayor Inglis advised that the Mayor had attended the previous meeting to provide his thoughts; however, the decision to change the Work Plan was made by the EDTF after the Mayor left the meeting.

It was noted that the EDTF is hoping Council will consider enhanced funding throughout the future for their initiatives. It was requested that the future of the EDTF be discussed at an upcoming Council meeting. The remainder of the Agenda items are being deferred until a later date after discussions occur regarding the EDTF.
