Also Present:
Casey Cuddy, Fire Chief (Kaladar Barrie); Brooke Drechsler,
Secretary; Christine Reed, CAO/Clerk-Treasurer; and Adam Robinson,
Director of Emergency Services/Fire Chief (North Frontenac)
Call to Order The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m.
Approval of Agenda
a) September 12, 2025 20-25 Moved by Councillor Kirby Thompson, Seconded by Councillor Ken Hook
Be It Resolved That the Committee approves the Agenda for the Joint Fire Committee Meeting dated September 12, 2025 as circulated. Carried

Financial Reports

Be It Resolved That the Committee receives for information the following from the Treasurer for the Kaladar/Barrrie Fire Department:
Budgetary Control for the period of January 1, 2025 to August 31, 2025;
General Ledger for the period of January 1, 2025 to August 31, 2025; And That the attached 2025 information is unaudited financial information and is subject to adjustments that may be identified when audit work is performed on our year-end financial statements, which could result in significant differences from this unaudited financial information. Carried

Note: Chief Cuddy and Chief Robinson left the meeting at this time. 26-25 Moved by Councillor Vernon Hermer, Seconded by Deputy Mayor Roy Huetl
Be It Resolved That the Committee shall go into Closed Session at 9:11 a.m. to: a. Adopt Minutes of a Closed Meeting held September 12, 2024; and b. Discuss Personal Matters about an Identifiable Individual, more specifically the Kaladar Barrie Fire Chief’s Performance Evaluation for 2025. Carried
Rise and Report
Chief Cuddy and Chief Robinson returned to the meeting at this time.
The Chair advised that during Closed Session, the Committee adopted Closed Minutes dated September 12, 2024; and discussed Personal Matters about an Identifiable Individual, more specifically the Kaladar Barrie Fire Chief’s Performance Evaluation for 2025.
Option of Electronic Participation in Meetings 27-25 Moved by Deputy Mayor Roy Huetl, Seconded by Reeve Henry Hogg
Be It Resolved That the Committee directs the Secretary to investigate the option of allowing participation electronically for the Committee members; and provide an update at the next meeting. Carried
