[image] Minutes of a Special Meeting of Council regard The Corporation of the Township of N Held October 6, 2022 in the Council Chambers, 664 Present: Mayor Ron Higgins, Deput Councillor Vernon Hermer Fowler and Councillor Joh Absent with Regrets: Councillor Wayne Good - W Also Present: Corey Klatt, Chief Adminis Mieske, Clerk/ Planning M Watkins, Treasurer 1. Call to Order The Chair called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. 2. Chair’s Opening Remarks The Chair advised the Special Meeting of Council was called to discuss a motion regarding the acquisition of a property for Seniors’ Housing which impacts the allocation of funds for Senior’s Housing, prior to the Frontenac County Council Meeting. 3. Approval of Agenda a) Approval of the Agenda for October 6, 202 Council re: Seniors’ Housing Resolution #: 386-22 Moved By: Seconded By: Deputy Mayo Councillor He Be It Resolved That Council approves the Agenda for the Special Meeting of Council regarding Seniors’ Housing dated October 6, 2022 as circulated. Carried 4. Disclosure of Pecuniary Interest and Genera None declared. 5. Closed Session a) Closed Agenda Resolution #: 387-22 Moved By: Seconded By: Councillor He Deputy Mayo Be It Resolved That Council retires to Closed Session at 9:05 a.m. to:
- Consider a Proposed or Pending Acquisition or Disposition of Land by the Municipality or Local Board. Carried
Rise and Report The Mayor advised that, during Closed Session, Council considered a Proposed or Pending Acquisition or Disposition of Land by the Municipality, with respect to Councillor Fowler’s Notice of Motion at the September 23, 2022 Council meeting and the purchase of property in Ompah for Seniors' Housing. Council decided not to proceed with the purchase. Allocation of Seniors’ Housing Funding Resolution #: 388-22 Moved By: Seconded By: Deputy Mayo Councillor Ing Be It Resolved That, further to Resolution #381-22 passed at the September 23, 2022 Council Meeting requesting County Council defer a decision on the allocation of Seniors’ Housing Funding; And That Council requests $100,000 of the Seniors’ Housing money from the County; and suggests the additional $237,500 left over be provided toward other Seniors’ Housing projects within the other three Townships; and not subsidize the Municipal Service Corporation for Communal Services. Carried 7. Confirmatory By-law a) Confirming By-law #71-22 Resolution #: 389-22 Moved By: Seconded By: Deputy Mayo Councillor He Be It Resolved That By-law #71-22, being a By-law to confirm all actions and proceedings of Council for its Special Meeting held October 6, 2022 be read a first, second and third time and passed. Carried 8. Adjournment a) Adjournment of Council Meeting Resolution #: 390-22 Moved By: Seconded By: Councillor He Deputy Mayo Be It Resolved That Council adjourns the Meeting at 10:03 a.m. until October 14, 2022 or at the call of the Chair.
