THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF SOUTH FRONTENAC BY-LAW NO. 2011-10
B.EIN_G..A.BY-LAW To APPOINT FOURNIER CONSULTING SERVICES AS THE M.EET!NGSINYESTIGATOR PURSUANT TO SECTIONS 8, 9 AND 10 AND 239.1’OF
THE MUNICIPAL ACT, 2001, AS AMENDED
WHEREAS effective January 1, 2008, Section 239.1 of the Municipal Act, 2001 as amended permits a person to request an investigation of whether a municipality or local board has
comp!ied^th,section,2390ftheMuniciPal Act.2001 asam-^ °- p.cedureby.aw under subsection 238 (2) in respect of a meeting or part of a meeting that was closed Yo the public;
AND WHEREAS Council deems it desirable to appoint Stephen Fournier of Fournier
Consulting SsMces as the Investigator to investigate all requests on behalf of the Township
of South Frontenac and its Committees for a one year term commencing January 1, 20111;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWNSHIP OF SOUTH FRONTEN HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1- That pursuant to sections 8, 9, 10 and 239.2 of the Municipal Act, 2001, as amended,
[the “Act) Council hereby appoints Fournler Consulting Services as the independent Investigator to investigate in accordance with the legislation all requests for an investigation of the Council or Committees of the Township. For the purposes of this by-law “committee” shall have the meaning as defined in section 238 of the Act.
- The appointment shall be a one year extension of the agreement provided for under by-law 2009-85 and shall commence the first day of January, 2011 and end on December 31, 2011 with the option of renewal.
