TOWNSHIPOF SOUTH FRONTENAC BY-LAW2021-70 A BY-LAWTO APPOINTJOHN MCDOUGALLTO THE OFFICEOF
COUNCILLOR, IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 263 (1) OF THE MUNICIPAL ACT.
WHEREAS on October 19, 2021 the Council of the Corporation ofthe Township of South Frontenac declared the office filled by Councillor Pat Ban- to be vacant in accordance with Section 262(1) of the Municipal Act and,
WHEREASSection 263 (1) ofthe MunicipalAct, as amended, provides that if a vacancy occurs in the office of a member of council, the municipality shall, fill the vacancy by appointing a person who has consented to accept the office if appointed; or require a by-election to be held to fill the vacancy in accordance with the Municipal Elections Act and,
AND WHEREAS Council has considered the options available to them on howto fill the vacancy,
ANDWHEREASCouncil has completed the process they approved in orderto recruit a candidateto fill the vacancy. NOWTHEREFORE THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF SOUTH FRONTENAC, BY ITS COUNCIL, HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1.
John McDougall is hereby appointed as Councillor on the Council of the Corporation of the Township of South Frontenac for the remainderof the term of Council.
All other by-laws, resolutions or action of Council that are not consistent
with or which are contrary to the provisions of this by-law are hereby repealed.
This by-law shall come into force and take effect on November 24, 2021.
