TOWNSHIP OF SOUTH FRONTENAC BY-LAW 2022-12 A BY-LAWTO CONFIRM GENERALLYALLACTIONSAND PROCEEDINGSOF THE COUNCILOF THE CORPORATIONOF THE TOWNSHIPOF SOUTH FRONTENAC ON FEBRUARY 1, 2022 Whereas Section 8 of the Municipal Act, S.0. 2001 c. 25 and amendments thereto
provides that a municipality has the capacity, rights powers and phvileges of a natural
person for the purpose of exercising its authority under the Municipal Act of any other Act; and;
Whereas Subsection 2 of Section 11 of the Municipal Act S.O. 2001, c. 25 and
amendments thereto provides that a lower-tier municipality and an upper-tier municipality may pass by-laws respecting matters within the spheres ofthejurisdiction described in the Table to Subsection 2, subject to certain provisions, and; Whereas Section 5 of the Municipal Act, S. O 2001 c. 25 and amendments thereto
provides that a municipal power, including a municipality’s capacity, rights, powers and privileges underSection 8 shall be exercised by its council and by by-law unless the municipality is specifically authorized to do otherwise, and
Whereas the Council ofthe Township of South Frontenac deems it expedient to confirm its actions and proceedings; NOWTHEREFORE BE IT RESOLVEDTHAT THE COUNCIL CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF SOUTH FRONTENAC, HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
The all actions and proceedings ofthe Council ofthe Corporation ofthe Township of South Frontenactaken at its meeting held on February 1, 2022 be confirmed as actions for which the municipality has the capacity, rights, powers and privileges of a natural person.
That all actions and proceedings ofthe Council ofthe Corporation ofthe Township of South Frontenac held February 1, 2022 be confirmed as being matters within the spheres ofjurisdiction described in Subsection 2 of Section 11 of the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001, c.25 and amendments thereto.
That all actions and proceedings ofthe Council ofthe Corporation ofthe Township of South Frontenac taken at its regular meeting held on February 1,
2022 exceptthose taken by by-lawand those required by bylawto bedone by resolution are herebysanctioned, ratified and confirmed asthough set out within and forming part of this by-law.
Execution by the Mayor and the Clerk of all Deeds, Instmments and other Documents necessary to give effect to any such Resolution, Motion or other action and the affixing of the Corporate Seal to any such Deed, Instruments or other Documents is hereby authorized and confirmed.
This By-lawshall come into force and take effect on the date of its passage.
Read a first and second time this 1 day of February, 2022.
