TOWNSHIP OF SOUTH FRONTENAC BY-LAW 2022-30 A BY-LAW TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR AND CLERK TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT AGREEMENT WITH INTELIVOTE SYSTEMS INC. FOR THE PURPOSES OF PROVIDING TELEPHONEIINTERNET VOTING SERVICES FOR THE 2022 MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS WHEREAS Subsection 42(1) (a) of the Municipal Elections Act R.S.O. 1996, states that the Council of a local municipality may pass by—lawsto authorize the use of voting and vote counting equipment such as voting machines, vote recorders or optical scanning vote tabulators; and WHEREAS Subsection 42(1)(b) of the Municipal Elections Act, R.S.O. 1996, states that the Council of a local municipality may pass by—lawsto authorize electors to use an alternative voting method, such as voting by mail, or by telephone/Internet, that does not require electors to attend at a voting place in order to vote; and AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Township of South Frontenac passed By-law 2021-64 that authorized the use of voting by telephone/Internet to ensure greater accessibility of all voters to exercise their individual and democratic right to vote; NOW THEREFORE THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF SOUTH FRONTENAC, BY ITS COUNCIL, HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:

That the Township enter into a contract agreement with lntelivote Systems inc, for the purpose of providing Telephone/Internet Voting services for the October 2022 elections.

That the Mayor and the Clerk be hereby authorized to execute all and any documents to give effect to these presents. this 19"‘ day of April 2022.
