The Deputy Mayor convened the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. 2.

Delegations
(i)
Taro Alps, Lake Links Planning Committee - Invitation to Lake Links
Workshop-Developing Eastern Ontario Lakes Sustainability. Taro Alps, on behalf of Lake Links Planning committee invited Council and staff to ,fh fh attend the Lake Links Workshop on October 29 . This is fhe 10 anniversary of the conference. Councillors can pay at the door with registration to be completed by October th

Leonard Jackson, re: Proposed amendment to Aggregate Licence # 3145 to allow for blasting within the licensed area north to County Road 11.
Council was thanked for their willingness to hear the concerns of the community with regard to the Aggregate License #3145 and blasting in the area north of County Road 11. The group presented their concerns with regard to traffic, noise level, most importantly their wells, foundations, property values and quality of life. A brief history was reviewed and dialogue between Council and the delegate took place. The direction from Council was to have the Planner prepare a report confirming the
details with regard to the current zoning, ministry entitlements and the process for any changes to the aggregate license. Deputy Mayor Tinlin thanked the delegates. 4.

Report from Rick Chesebrough, Fire Chief, re: Fire Department Annual Report
Fire Chief Chesebrough provided a summary of statistics as part of a presentation for Fire Prevention Week.

Direction from Council was to move facilities and all capital needs as part of the comprehensive capital budget and that in the interim, ongoing maintenance should be conducted on fire halls.
(ii) Report from Wayne Orr, Chief Admimsti-ative Officer, re: Council Remuneration. Direction from Council was that Councillor’s serving as Deputy Mayor already receive compensation and no additional charges should be forthcoming for activities where the Deputy Mayor is attending in the place of the Mayor. All other aspects remain as presented. 5.
Other Business
(i)
Karen Hunt, Lake Networking Group, re: Building Stronger Communication Lines with Lake Associations.
Council’s direction was that staff are to continue to follow the rules as per the Planning Act and that staff are not to take on the responsibility of advising groups on individual requests.
(") Councillor Vandewal commented on the success of garbage collection at the end of O’Neil Lane and that the proper process had been followed to implement this. 6.
