The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the meeting room of the Library. 2.

(i)

Joe GalUvan - County Official Plan

Joe Gallivan from the County of Frontenac presented to Council on the steps that are taking place in the development of the County Official Plan.

A copy of the basis document, County of Frontenac Official Plan, May 2012 was distributed.

Joe outlined the process and timelines for the County’s OP process. It is the

intention of the County to hold Open Houses in August in each Township. They are looking to solicit both informal and formal feedback and are

considering an online survey. The first draft is anticipated in the Spring of 2013; the second draft in the FaU of 2013 and adoption by early 2014. Council suggested that targeting Lake Associations would be a good group to reach with the Open Houses. 6.

Reports Requiring Direction:

Deputy Mayor McDougall re Joint Session with Lake Associations

Deputy Mayor McDougall spoke to his earlier request for a joint session with Lake Associations. Direction from Council was to proceed with an August date to coordinate with as many Lake Associations as possible. Staff will follow up on this.

Mark Segsworth, Public Works Manager re South Frontenac Entrance Signage

Mark Segsworth presented to Council, options on the South Frontenac entrance signage.

Direction from Council was to brmg to a future meeting a revised version with the motto incorporated.

(Ml) Mark Segsworth, Public Works Manager re Waste Disposal Site Operations Review

Mark Segsworth and Guy Laporte presented highlights and recommendations from the Draft Waste Disposal Site Operations Review. Councillors expressed various opinions and offered suggestions on each recommendation.

Mark Segsworth and Guy Laporte addressed questions from Council and provided clarification.

The report was received for information purposes only. Council’s direction was to proceed with public meetings and to receive written submissions as well.

(iv) Mark Segsworth, Public Works Manager re Response to Ministry of Environment - Portland Site

Mark Segsworth reviewed with Council the draft response to the Ministry of Environment regarding the Portland site. Council’s direction was to incorporate a temporary restriction for that site. th

A final version will be reviewed at the June 19 meeting for adoption by Council. 7.

Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority

The Authority is preparing source water documentation that should be out within the next week. . . .

Rideau Valley Conservation Authority - No Report Quinte Conservation Authority - No Report Portland Historical Society

With Community Care now located in the Princess Ann Building, Deputy Mayor McDougall brought forward the idea of the Heritage Society assuming space in the old school house for the storage and collection of the Historical Society’s items, with a long term potential for a fuhire museum. He also clarified the long term joint opportunities that exist with the Bedford Historical Society. 9.
