Call to Order
The Mayor reconvened the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers 2.
Business Items
(i)
Anne Levac, Planning Assistant, re: Closing ofUnopened Road Allowances
Council direction was that if severance requests are being made, they should follow up through the normal process with the Committee of Adjustment and that Council is generally not in favour of closing road allowances that lead to water. (ii)
Wayne Orr, Chief Administrative Officer, re: Police Services Board Initiative
Council direction was to include a $5000.00 allowance in the 2012 budget for this communication tool on behalf of the Police Services Board. This item will then be part of the budget discussions for final confirmation.
(iii) Wayne Orr, Chief Administa-ative Officer, re: Portland Cemetery Board With regard to this report, direction from Council was to contact the chair of the Portland Cemetery Board and ask them to contact the Verona Community Association to discuss
their concerns and for the board to accept a delegation from the VGA at their upcoming .
meeting.
With regard to the topic ot amalgamating the cemetery boards, the three municipal councillors were asked to take that message back to their local boards and to report back to Council on how that discussion goes.
(iv) Wayne Orr, Chief Administrative Officer, re: Strategic Plan Wifh regard to the Strategic Plan, direction from Council was to bring this item for approval at a Council meeting. The resolution is to include a direction from staff for the development oftimelines and budget implications.
(v) Wayne Orr, Chief Administrative Officer, re: 2012 Budget Process Council direction was to include a review of the reserve balances and any restrictions and to pursue Option B as outlined in the report and adapt this option to include a full day Sahu-day session.

With regard to the financial direction. Council indicated that the capital budget should come forward as a comprehensive listing and items will be prioritized by Council. With regard to the operating budget, operating increases are to be included (such as wage
adjustments and materials and supply changes). Any expansion of any program will need a strong rationale for Council to debate. 3.
