Call to Order

Mayor Vandewal called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm by welcoming those in attendance.

Delegations
a)
County of Frontenac - In-Field Communications Terry Gervais spoke to his presentation that provided an update on what has been done to date with respect to the County wide in field communication strategy. The next steps will be to initiate a process that would include an Expression of Interest and a Request for Proposal to include upgrading the existing analog system and user gear, costing of a new digital system and user gear, leasing options for the simulcast infrastructure both analog and digital and to explore the possible partnerships with neighboring municipalities/counties.
b)
Overview of County Economic Development - Successes and Future Direction Richard Allen and Alison Vandervelde provided an update on economic development in Frontenac County. Their presentation included outlining the ecosystem of partnerships with various agencies, the economic development charter that includes Trips and Trails, Local Food and Beverages and Recreation Lifestyle and the Brand Ambassador program success. A review of the operating budget for economic development for Frontenac County and other counties revealed that other than Renfrew County, Frontenac has the lowest per capita investment.
