TOWNSHIP OF SOUTH FRONTENAC BY-LAW 2016-64 BEING A BY-LAW TO DESIGNATETHE VILLAGEOF HARROWSMITH AS A COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT AREA RESPECTING ITS REDEVELOPMENT, REVITALIZATION, PROSPERITK AND BEAUTIFICATION WHEREAS, section 6. 18 of the Official Plan for the Township of South Frontenac contains policies for community improvement of the areas in the Townshipdesignated as Settlement Areas; AND WHEREAS, section 28(1) of the Planning Act, R. S. O. 1990, as amended, allows for the designation of any of the Settlement Areas as a Community Improvement Project Area, the improvement of which, in the opinion of Council, is desirable because of its age, dilapidation, overcrowding, faulty arrangement, unsuitability of buildings or for any otherenvironmental, socialorcommunity economic development reason; AND WHEREAS, Council deems it appropriate to designate the Harrowsmith
Settlement Area as a Community Improvement ProjectAreaforthe purposes of establishing a Community Improvement Plan respecting its redevelopment, revitalization, prosperity and beautification in accordance with section 28(2) of the Planning Act, R.S. O. 1990, as amended;
NOW THEREFORE THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF SOUTH FRONTENAC BY ITS COUNCIL,HEREBY ENACTSAS FOLLOWS: 1.
THAT the Hamswsmith Settlement Area as demarcated on Schedule “A"to
the Official Plan, the Land Use Plan, is hereby designated as a Community Improvement project Area for the purposes of preparing a Community Improvement Plan. 2.
THAT this By-law shall take effect on the date of final passing and remain in effect until October 31, 2020.
