What each tier is for

Long Form is the long reads: the investigations that take weeks, with every source beside them. The opening of each is free; the rest is yours.

Notes adds the investigator’s notes behind each deep dive: the sources and the records read, the claim register’s public lines with the record behind each, the timeline, correspondence as sent, and what could not be confirmed. It is the working file, made readable.

Investigator adds the desk: assignments from the Editor-in-Chief, the records to work, a place to file what you find and to talk it through, and credit on the work. Everything goes through the newsroom’s gates before it runs.

The rules do not change with the tier

Nobody buys coverage. Members do not see stories before they are published, do not pick what is covered, and are not named on the site unless they earned a credit at the desk. Every tier is cancelled from the account page in one click. Prefer to support the work without an account? An e-transfer to [email protected] is welcome.
