Reading
You can read the news and the paper without an account. Nothing is collected from readers who do not sign up beyond what the analytics and advertising services below collect.
Accounts and membership
A free or paid account stores your email address and name, your membership tier, and the newsletters you chose. Sign-in is by a link sent to your email; there is no password to keep. Payments, when they open, are handled by Stripe; NFNM never sees or stores card numbers. You can see, change or delete your account from the account page at any time, and cancel a paid tier in one click.
Comments
Comments are posted under the name on your account and are visible to other readers who can see the same story.
Analytics and advertising
The site uses Google Analytics (property G-QLDM7RL6DH) to understand which pages are read and on what devices, and Google AdSense (publisher pub-8354027145858185) to show ads. Both may set cookies. NFNM does not set its own tracking cookies. Personalised advertising can be switched off at Google’s ad settings; Google’s own policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
Email and tips
A message to the newsroom is kept confidential and is not added to any list. Source protection is a standing rule.
Your rights
Under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act you may ask what personal information NFNM holds about you and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. Write to [email protected].
